Blair's Original Death Sauce
If you like Garlic, mild heat, and habanero
mixed together, this is the sauce for you. Though not listed as a possible use,
I found this to be an excellent steak sauce, bar none!
1/3 to 1/2 bttle per steak is not an unusual amount to use per meal. There is no
biting heat, just flavor, with a really nice 'warmth' that creeps up on you.
It's a pleasant warmth that can cause you sweat a little, with no other
side/after effects. I consider it a "must-have" for anybody that likes to use
any sauce on a steak.
3 Hot Tamales Cry Baby Hot Sauce
Personally, I would remove both x's from the bottle which scare some people off. The sauce is not hot, but, is extremely tasty. Take a pork loin, rub it with either of their rubs, then when the meat is about done, baste it with this sauce. The meat will be tender and juicy with a smoked bell pepper tang. You will Cry for more.
Defcon Sauces
I personally love the #1 on my wings. Great heat and Fantastic flavor. Best I've ever had. Most people are very content with the #2. It has some tolerable heat, and the flavor is Fantastic.
Hey Guys n Gals,
Just a little plug for one of our brethren.
Frank (Tinner666) gave me link to a sauce mfr that was supposed to be good. Even
though he sells the sauce, he didn't try to get me to buy from him. Soon as I
figured that out, I went to Frank's site...
and bought some stuff that
I thought might be good.
What I've tried so far:
Blair's sweet death, a great addition to veggie type soups and light chilis. A
little heat, but not much. Could be used much as the next sauce listed.
Dave's Ginger Peach Hot sauce, I don't know where the term "hot sauce" comes
from, but there is NO heat to this stuff. It is sweet, tasty, great on anything
that goes well with sweet. Over rice or any oriental. Would make a great
sweet-sour sauce..... just really good.
Defcon 2, the description of this stuff sounds hotter than it is, but it is hot
enough that you would probably use it sparingly for a general cook. Put on the
side and allow guest to use as they desire. Has great flavor, and is a great
addition to BULL's "Buffalo Chicken Dip" recipe he posted on the superbowl
munchies thread.
Flynn's Baby Damian Raspberry Habanero, I like this. I don't have any ice cream
in the house, which is what Frank recommended it with. If you get a Hab'y in
your mouth, you will know it. This one can sneak up on you, but you do taste the
raspberry and I can see quite a few applications where this would work.
Flynn's Garlic Mustard. If you like mustard, you'll love this. If you like
garlic AND mustard, this stuff is TO DIE FOR.
Tropical Pepper Co's Calypso sauce, another sweet/hot with papaya and red
chilies. Very tasty.
I have a few more to try, but didn't want to open then all right away. It seems
to me that Frank has picked some of the "best of the best" from different mfr's
to offer at Frank's Sauces.
If you like sauce, give it a shot. I have not been disappointed yet.
